C D Tavares has been a professional computer engineer since 1969. Trained at MIT, he has variously served as a systems programmer; network designer, maintainer, and installer, release manager; security inspector; quality and reliability engineer; technical sales professional; and top-ranked customer service guru for major computer manufacturers such as Honeywell (Multics) and Stratus Computer (Continuous Availability).

An expert troubleshooter, C D has been called on to crack tough nuts for a client list that includes America Online, DHL, MGM Casinos, the Canadian Defense Ministry, the New Hampshire State Lottery, the British Stock Exchange, the US Air Force, Scientific Games, and even Apple Computer itself (the eWorld service).

C D has been working on Macintosh computers since 1989, and is an Apple-Certified Macintosh Technician.
